Gaia maps 150,000+ asteroid orbits — ESA/Gaia/DPAC

Space Data Intelligence

Validated data for the space economy

Esox Space builds on two open Gaia catalogs — GASP (19,190 asteroid reflectance spectra, published RNAAS) and GAPC (128,885 phase curve parameters) — and a merged catalog of 18,307 complete asteroid profiles (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.19867798) — delivering validated, cross-matched data for mission screening and due diligence.

Track record

  1. Apr 2026

    GASP published

19,190 asteroid reflectance spectra published in Research Notes of the AAS (peer-reviewed, Chris Lintott, University of Oxford). DOI: 10.3847/2515-5172/ae5e45

  2. Apr 2026

    GAPC submitted

128,885 HG phase curve parameters submitted to Astronomy & Astrophysics. Zenodo: 10.5281/zenodo.19858420

  3. Apr 2026

    Merged catalog

18,307 complete asteroid profiles — spectra + phase curves + diameter + albedo in one dataset. Zenodo: 10.5281/zenodo.19867798

  4. Late 2026

    Gaia DR4

Full pipeline update planned on next Gaia data release — expected to significantly expand catalog size.

Catalog Suite

Two open catalogs built on the same reproducible infrastructure — GASP for reflectance spectra, GAPC for phase curve parameters. Both published on Zenodo under MIT license.

  1. Gaia DR3 acquisition

Reflectance spectra from ESA’s archive, structured for reproducible processing.

  2. NUV correction

Published correction for near-ultraviolet systematics (Tinaut-Ruano et al.).

  3. Cross-match & enrichment

Photometry, families, albedo where available — aligned to the public GASP catalog.

  4. ML classification & ranking

Random Forest classifier trained on 358 labelled objects. F1-macro 0.72, extending taxonomy to 42.7% catalog coverage.

Services — In Preparation

Services

Fixed-scope products where possible. All commercial outputs label screening estimates as illustrative; independent verification remains your responsibility.

Current catalogs are based on Gaia DR3. Full commercial services launch with Gaia DR4 (expected late 2026), which will significantly expand coverage and data quality. Early enquiries welcome at vienna@esoxconsult.com

Tier A — Prospecting Dossier

Single-body report: reflectance spectrum, phase curve parameters, delta-v estimate, diameter, albedo, taxonomy, and meteorite analog — where available from the GASP/GAPC catalog suite.

Tier B — Target Filter

Portfolio-level shortlist against constraints you define. Delivered as tables and a concise technical memo. Illustrative economic figures where shown.

Tier C — Mission Analysis

Deeper trajectory-accessibility and scenario work for a narrow target set — scoped after intro call. Scoping calls welcome now — contact vienna@esoxconsult.com

All economic figures are illustrative. No investment advice implied.

Use Cases

Who uses Esox Space data

Mission target selection

Identify accessible, high-value asteroid candidates before committing mission resources. GAPC provides delta-v proxies and compositional screening for 128,885 objects — filtered to your orbital and mineralogical constraints.
